Area K Qualifiers for the 2010 US Sailing Junior Championships
July 26, 2010
July 14-16 the US Sailing Center – Sheboygan hosted the Area K Qualifiers for the 2010 US Sailing Junior Championships. This event consisted of youth sailors from Michigan, Minnesotsa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, sailing three classes of boats: Lasers, Lightnings, and C420s. The top competitors in each class received an invitation to the championships, which will be held in San Diego August 14-18, with the opportunity to compete against the country’s best youth sailors.

US Women's Match Race Championship

The US Sailing Center of Sheboygan welcomed eight elite teams for this week’s U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship (USWMRC), a US SAILING National Championship and an ISAF Grade 3 event. Defending champion and US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics (USSTAG) member Genny Tulloch returned to compete in her third consecutive USWMRC and went home as the reigning champ after this weekend’s races winning the Allegra Knapp Mertz Trophy.

Youth Match Racing Camp & Regatta

Twenty five U.S. youth sailors just completed an intensive five-day match race training camp run by three-time U.S. national champion and US Sailing Team Alphagraphics women's match race coach Dave Perry (Southport, CT). The Camp was hosted by the U.S. Sailing Center of Sheboygan and the Sheboygan Yacht Club, and was sailed in the Center's Sonars. Read more...
Advanced Open Match Race Results

The second annual Advanced Open Invitational, a Grade 3 match racing event hosted by the U.S. Sailing Center of Sheboygan, was won by collegiate All-American Stephanie Roble, who defeated an international field that had competitors from Greece and Canada as well as from all over the U.S. Second in the event was Stratis Andreadis from Athens, Greece, and third was Max Moosman from Long Beach, California. Elliotts Coming Home

Four of the US Sailing Center - Sheboygan Elliott 6ms have begun their journey back to Wisconsin
for the 2010 summer season. The boats have been based in Florida for the last several months
where they have been used for Olympic team training and qualifying as well as the Rolex Miami OCR.
Also, travelling home on this truck is one of the center's fleet of Edgewater 170CC umpire boats.
